About La Maison Mondiale
La Maison Mondiale is not only a precious heritage building, it is also a place to live, work and meet.
Built in 1937 by architect Maurice Braillard for the Boccard family of nurserymen and landscape gardeners, it is located in the Promenade des Crêts. Braillard's style is recognisable by the elaborate woodwork, large bay windows and bow window that feature in many of his designs. It was recently restored by the Terra et Casa Foundation under the guidance of Ganz Muller Architects and brought back to its original splendour. It was adapted it to the needs of the urbz team and it is now ready to welcome esteemed visitors like yourself. More than just a simple restoration, this initiative pays tribute to the house's visionary architect, while giving visitors a chance to discover Geneva from the inside.
This exceptional villa of over 250 m², spread over two floors and surrounded by a garden, has become a lively and dynamic space. It houses the urbz offices and the Urbanology programme, but its ambitions go far beyond that. La Maison Mondiale is conceived as an oasis for people on mission in Geneva, humanitarians, international civil servants, artists or academics, offering them a unique setting in which to stay.
Much more than a hotel, this house is a space for exchange and encounters. Its residents can interact with the urbz team, their guests and the various local actors, encouraging the creation of links and the emergence of new opportunities. This project is part of a tradition of hospitality, placing the sharing of stories and wine, and networking with friends at the heart of the experience.
La Maison Mondiale is an anchor point for Geneva: an open city, where cultures and ideas meet, where everyone can feel at home, while being connected to the rest of the world.
